Ecommerce Marketing Automation Ideas & Strategies

Ecommerce continues to grow in sales. It is expected to surpass records of nearly four trillion dollars this year. It is an excellent time to start an eCommerce business, as online shopping continues to be the norm.

Growth accelerates, and so does competition. This is why it is crucial to have strong marketing strategies in place.

Strategy 1: Email Marketing

Email marketing still works. Building an email list and collecting contacts is the first step. Attracting the right customer is much more important than just getting emails.

Segmentation is key to email marketing success. Your campaigns will be more successful if you make your content more personal. Ecommerce marketing automation is a great tool. Marketing automation can help you build and nurture an email list.

Ecommerce: Automated email examples

While there are many different types of emails that brands can send, there are a few essential email campaigns for eCommerce businesses.

Welcome email – Subscribers should be greeted with a welcome email when they sign up or become a customer. Research shows that customers are more likely to convert at 52% than unsubscribe after receiving a welcome mail.

Abandoned cart emails – These emails form a crucial part of any marketing strategy. An email can be sent to customers who add a product to their cart but don’t make the purchase. It may remind them of the product or offer a discount.

Browse Abandonment email – This email is sent out to subscribers who were browsing products, but have not added any items to their carts before leaving. These emails are very effective as they are personalized and have a high open rate and conversion rate.

Confirmation email – Customers need confirmation emails to confirm that they have received their order and that it has been shipped. These emails are very popular. These emails are highly open-friendly and can be a great way for brands to build trust with customers, which in turn will lead to repeat business.

Strategy 2: SMS Texting

SMS is a common communication method for most people. eCommerce has discovered that texting is essential for a business to be successful. 90% of SMS messages can be read within three minutes of being received. This is a great way for subscribers to be notified and allows them to view more messages.

This option can be added to your visitors’ list by collecting mobile numbers and email addresses in addition to the sign-up form. You can send SMS as standalone messages or integrate it with your email marketing.

Strategy 3: Content Marketing

Content is still the king! Content is the foundation of everything you create. All content, including product descriptions, banners and emails, as well as social media posts, SMS messages, newsletters, and email templates, has one thing in common: the content. It is important to consider how your product will benefit customers before you start creating content. What problems does it solve? The product will be more popular if you are able to offer a solution.

Content should provide value and quality information. Your content should be relevant to your ideal customer as well as your brand. Your SEO and search engine ranking will be aided by quality content on your website as well as social media channels. This will give your brand more chances to reach the right audience. Our directory contains listings for content marketing agencies for start-ups.

Strategy 4: Social Media

Your overall marketing strategy must include social media marketing. Social media is used by billions of people to spread awareness.

Social media allows you to show beautiful images that will entice customers. Brands have the opportunity to engage potential customers and share stories that will increase conversions. Engage and respond to direct messages and comments. Social media offers a lot of opportunities for trust and connection.

Online Reviews Most Impactful on Industries

Online reviews show that online reputation management is becoming more important in today’s digital age. A Harvard Business School study found that restaurants see a five- to nine per cent increase in revenue when their Yelp ratings are higher by one star.

These are just a few more statistics from online reviews that demonstrate the importance of managing your online reputation for your business.

  • Positive customer reviews are more trusted by 72% of buyers than businesses without them.
  • Eighty-six per cent of customers said they would be reluctant to do business with companies with poor customer reviews.
  • Eighty-eight% of customers trust customer reviews online as much as personal recommendations.

Your customers’ purchasing decisions are influenced by online reviews. Positive reviews are more likely to be trusted by consumers, which can lead to higher revenues. This is a clear indication of how important reputation management is to businesses looking to attract modern consumers.

What Consumers Want in a Review?

A good understanding of what makes a great review is essential for reputation management.

  • Star rating
  • Legitimacy
  • Recency
  • Quantity
  • Sentiment

It is important to have high star ratings. However, there are other factors to consider. A product with a rating of 4.5 and many reviews will be preferred by consumers over one with only a few reviews. Also, you should ensure that your reviews are current. Businesses are always looking for more customer reviews.

Hospitality Industry

This industry is more costly than other industries, so customers need to be convinced when choosing the right hotel or motel. Travelers always seek value for money and rely on reviews online to find the best hotel or motel.

According to statistics from reputation management, 49% of customers won’t choose hotels without reviews. A bad review or rating can cause a hotel to lose as many as 30 reservations.

Online review monitoring must be a top priority for hospitality businesses. This includes tracking customer mentions, responding appropriately to feedback, and increasing customer reviews.

Restaurants

Online review statistics show that 60 percent of diners check out online reviews, and that 67 percent prefer to eat at restaurants with four- or five-star ratings.

When choosing a restaurant to eat at, people are very careful. They consider many factors when choosing a restaurant to dine at. These include food taste, health concerns, allergies, and the atmosphere. A majority of millennials now prefer to order food from restaurants that deliver due to the pandemic.

BrightLocal lists the restaurant industry among the top five industries in which customers are most likely to have read customer reviews. Online reputation management is an investment worth making for cafes and restaurants. It helps to increase sales and customer retention by monitoring and promoting positive brand images.

Healthcare

Online reviews are trusted by 76 percent of people as well as 90 percent of patients who evaluate doctors using them. Positive feedback and ratings will be abundant in the medical industry because patients tend to post positive reviews. Positive reputations can bring you more calls and visits.

Negative reviews can reduce visits and calls by as much as 1/3. Negative reviews from doctors should be treated with care. You are not permitted to confirm that the reviewer is your patient and to share any information with the feedback.

eCommerce

88% of consumers use online reviews to help them make an informed buying decision when the product is new. Products that have ratings between 4.2 and 4.5 out of 5 are more likely to be bought than those with lower or higher ratings. Customers are more likely to purchase products with 5-star reviews. Customers will prefer brands that have more reviews and feedback, no matter how positive or negative.

Retailers must increase their review acquisition efforts. Spiegel Research Center found that displaying reviews can increase your conversion rates by as much as 270 percent.

Digital Marketing Success

The success of most businesses, particularly eCommerce stores, is directly tied to their website hosting platform.

It is simple to say that the success of your digital marketing campaigns depends on the health and architecture of your online store. It is possible to design and implement the most effective digital marketing campaigns and strategies. However, suppose your website isn’t functioning properly and visitors aren’t returning to you or driving up sales. In that case, you won’t get the return on investment that you expect from proven marketing strategies.

Conversion rate optimization is a term that describes the science and art of converting visitors to returning customers. It is metrics-based and requires many factors to be considered, including your web hosting platform. Web hosting is an important part of any digital marketing strategy and key to a successful SEO campaign.

A Virtual Private Server (VPS ) is one of the most common and popular types of hosting. A VPS is a service that offers many benefits. Before we get to the benefits, let’s first look at VPS and how it works.

What is a Virtual Private Server (VPS)?

Wikipedia.com defines a Virtual Private Server as a “virtual machine that is sold by an Internet hosting company.” The server runs its own Operating System (OS), and customers have super-user rights to it. A virtual private server is, in other words, a virtual copy or dedicated server. It is easier to create and configure because it is software-defined.

Web hosting is one of the most common business uses for VPS. Web hosting companies lease or own physical servers to host many VPS instances. They then offer their clients the ability to install and manage their eCommerce websites.

Note An eCommerce website is not the only one that can be hosted on a VPS. VPS hosting is possible for any website. This article will discuss the eCommerce use case.

What are the advantages of a VPS?

A VPS has many benefits, including:

Dedicated resources: Virtual machine is a virtual machine used to host web-based apps and websites. This facilitates their access for potential and returning customers. Each VPS is equipped with its own resources including memory, CPU, disk space, network bandwidth, and network capacity. This gives website and app owners complete control over their apps.

Higher speed

Website speed is one of the ranking factors Google uses to rank websites in search engines results pages (SERP) since 2018.

The Google Developer site explains why speed was chosen as one of Google’s ranking criteria. Users are less likely to purchase from slow websites, especially on mobile devices.

According to statistics, 50% of website visits are abandoned when a mobile page takes more than 3 seconds to load. The brand loses sales because of this. It is in the best interest of the brand owner to optimize websites and web apps for speed. A VPS is a web hosting platform that can help you achieve this.

Lower maintenance and cost

A VPS also has the advantage of being much cheaper than a physical server. For commercial purposes, there are not many comparable costs. It is worth noting that virtual private servers can be hosted on physical or hardware servers, so the cost of operating a VPS will be significantly lower than purchasing, installing and maintaining physical servers.

The web hosting company also handles all the heavy lifting so that you don’t need to worry about hardware parts breaking or needing to replaced. You are only responsible for the maintenance and installation of your website or application.

Trends in B2B Ecommerce

B2B is paradoxical. While it encourages innovative ideas, it can also be stuck in its old ways. Despite the phenomenal economic growth, B2B E-Commerce is still a dated online presence when compared to B2C. 2021 is a pivotal year due to the rapid shifts in marketing trends and changing customer expectations. What are the changes we can expect?

M-Commerce

Mobile B2B ecommerce will soon be a popular option, with more than half of all internet traffic coming via mobile devices. Mobile commerce will offer many advantages that B2-B sellers can take advantage of. You can log in quickly, get push notifications and analyse data.

Some B2B businesses will opt for m-commerce as creating an online sales platform is easier than improving the existing one. Because it is easier, some companies launch their products directly on mobile devices.

Price Disclosure

Although many B2B websites appear to have e-commerce capabilities, the vast majority do not reveal pricing information. Some websites require users to create an account before they can view the price list.

This helps sellers to control their price ranges more effectively but it can also create an unpleasant situation for buyers. This lack of options results in a lackluster incentive to change the practice. But, things are changing.

This has attracted significant customer pressure and 2021 will mark a turning point in many industries. To avoid investing in e-commerce solutions that will be outdated by 2022, B2B sellers who want to create a website must take decisive measures to disclose the price of their products.

Dynamic Pricing

Dynamic pricing systems that can incorporate multiple criteria will solve the B2B pricing problem. These pricing systems are worth the investment, regardless of whether they are guided by market, production capacity or client profiles. These pricing systems will generate profits and give B2B companies a competitive edge, as they are impossible to duplicate.

Spotlight On Services

B2B ecommerce is more complicated than B2C in terms of the sales process. A user must consider more than just their need when purchasing from a B2B seller. They must not only obtain the product they desire, but also be able to manage it effectively. This applies to raw materials, consumables, and equipment.

There is a lot of potential for B2B ecommerce to incorporate helpful features that can help a seller stand out in their niche. B2B E-commerce will gradually become more complex with added features.

Services that add value

B2B ecommerce websites must go beyond the basic function of a shop and become platforms that can help to build and sustain business relationships. Companies must offer services that add value to their products in order to achieve this goal. This could include repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Re-Commerce and Buy Back

Manufacturers could include second-hand products in their sales offering after integrating large numbers of users into a smart system. Buy back is a great way for B2B sellers to strengthen their relationships with buyers. Customers will not be able to go to other competitors looking for the same services.

Google Announces Privacy-Focused Strategy in Response to Recent Controversies

In response to recent privacy controversies, Google announced plans for a privacy-focused website.

To improve web browsing privacy, Google has recently pledged that it would make third-party cookies in Chrome obsolete. Google has a new set of technical solutions, which replaces the annoying tracking system that Safari and Firefox have used for a while.

What’s the problem with cookies?

Google recognizes that this is not sustainable, and has responded to privacy concerns of lawmakers and consumers by blocking third-party cookie access completely.

Websites that rely on advertising for income are negatively affected by the removal of cookies. It encourages opaque tracking techniques like fingerprinting and other forms of privacy, which in turn reduces control and user privacy.

Device fingerprinting, an intrusive practice, collects small details of user activity to create a unique user profile. This is similar to the cookies system that aims to identify the person who uses it. Fingerprinting can be used to bypass ad blocking and users who have cleared their cookies. This profile is created by using browser settings, not cookies. It uses the user’s browser settings, such as IP address, fonts, browser extensions, fonts, and plugins. Fingerprinting is harder to detect than cookies and user profiles are more difficult to delete.

The Privacy Sandbox does not invade user privacy but instead promotes a healthy, ad-supported internet. Google plans to implement the Privacy Sandbox using out-of-the box strategies for their existing web technologies within two years.

Google released information and testing results for one of their API’s. They refer to it as “Federated Learning of Cohorts” (or “FLoC”) FLoC is a Chrome extension that will launch before the end of this year. FLoC is a browser extension that prevents individual user tracking. It also implements anti fingerprinting measures in order to discourage the use of such deceptive or intrusive techniques.

Google has begun to transition to an ad-supported website. Chrome introduced a new system in February 2021 that restricts cross-site tracking. Cookies that do not include a SameSite label are considered first-party use and cookies marked for third-party use must be accessed via HTTPS.

Google’s Corrupt History and Public Privacy Invasions: A Look at Google

Google has been involved in a number of privacy-related controversies, including the misuse of user intellectual properties, violations of user privacy, and manipulations of search results to drive advertisements. These three recent Google controversies can serve as the basis for Google’s privacy-focused strategy.

The US Justice Department sued Google in October 2020 over claims that Google’s search and advertising violated federal antitrust laws. These antitrust claims and the multibillion-dollar lawsuit against Google allege that Google uses exploitative monopolistic methods.

Google is accused of using questionable business practices to protect its market share in online searches. This includes paying billions of dollars to be the default search app on smartphones and a variety of other devices.

Additionally, Google was featured in UK news headlines as the UK Government sued Google’s YouTube platform for “knowingly violating privacy law in the country” by tracking children online.

YouTube is accused of violating data privacy laws in the UK Data Protection Act, and Europe’s GDPR. YouTube is said to have illegally harvested the data of “millions to children” for the purpose of targeting ads.

Marketing tips for B2B SaaS

SaaS (Software as a Service) is a model that allows providers to sell their products through cloud-based software applications that are updated regularly. SaaS has gained popularity due to its affordability and accessibility via an internet browser, without the need for any operating system.

SaaS allows businesses to operate more efficiently with automatized technology and lower human resources.

B2B SaaS is software that companies provide to other businesses. These companies help businesses improve their sales, increase their performance, and make more money. Many B2B SaaS providers provide software to e-commerce firms that allows them to create successful apps for customers. It is even easier if you are familiar with the best B2B SAAS marketing tips.

Get a free trial

A free trial can be a powerful lead generation tool that helps visitors make buying decisions. Demonstrate the value your product can bring to your customers by offering free trials. The first step of your conversion funnel should be to get a user signed up for a trial.

This is especially important if you are competing with them and they do not offer free trials. If they already offer it, you can adjust the length of your trial to match what they offer. This will give you a competitive edge. Be confident when promoting your free trial. You can emphasise that your visitors will be interested in purchasing your service after your trial.

Invest in Google Ads, Especially Desktop Searches

This is another important tip in the list of B2B SaaS marketing strategies. Most SaaS companies, from large corporations to start-ups, rely heavily on Google Ads for their paid leads and budget. Google Ads can be a powerful tool for your B2B SaaS company if you have a solid strategy and regularly optimize your campaigns.

Although many B2C brands are moving to mobile traffic, most traffic to B2B SaaS websites comes from desktops. This includes bounce rate, sessions per session and session duration.

It is easy to increase Google Ads spending on desktop. Many people spend their workday searching for software, while others are browsing the web for it. This contrasts with the average consumer who uses their smartphones during leisure time. You should optimize your Google PPC campaigns for desktop use.

Concentrate on Customer Retention

While the topic is B2B SaaS marketing tips, we must mention customers.

Too much attention is paid to customer acquisition by brands. Customer retention is nearly twenty-five times more expensive than acquisition. Because customers are typically long-term, SaaS customers are especially important. The majority of revenue comes from customers who have been with the company for a while. You should focus on retaining existing customers, not just acquiring new ones.

You can improve your customer service after the first meeting to increase customer retention. It is important to satisfy their expectations. You should communicate clearly what you offer your customers. Your users should be able to ask you any questions they may have. Your customers will be more knowledgeable about your SaaS services if you help them.

Raise that Voice – Why Tone Matters?

What tone of voice is important? How to use it?

Please speak to me in the tone of voice.

A strong brand language is the foundation of every successful business. It describes the tone, words and phrases a company uses to market their products and services. As important as brand identity is brand language. It has the same impact as visual signals on how consumers perceive a company – it builds awareness, establishes trust and differentiates it from its competitors.

The tone of voice plays a key role in how a brand uses language. It is the brand’s intrinsic character that is brought to life through words. It’s not about what you say, but how you say them. This includes the language you use, how you build sentences and the rhythm and sound you use. The term “tone of voice” is a common phrase in business meetings. Let’s dive deeper into the meaning of tone of voice, how it can be used, and when it comes into play.

Please indicate your position

Your brand positioning and core values are the first step in developing a tone of voice. What do you believe in as a brand? Are you empowering and dynamic? Are you caring and compassionate? Are you funny or mischievous? Is it smart and a skilled expert in its field? How might these positions affect the tone of voice?

Once you have established your core positioning you can use your brand values as tone of voice principles or rules of thumb to guide the content you write. MailChimp, a dynamic brand, might use bold statements and lots of positive-trigger verbs in order to grab attention. To show customers they care, a trusted brand like SSE might use warm language, lots of personal pronouns and use warm language. PaddyPower might be more playful and make jokes.

The where, what and when

You can stay true to your brand’s values and core position in all written communications, including packaging, web copy newsletters and press releases. Depending on the channel you are communicating through, some elements of your tone can be adjusted up or down. Your humanity, for example, might be more evident in your UX copy or your Instagram posts. Or your knowledge and experience may shine through on your website.

Being who you really are Attaining their potential?

Let’s look at how two brands might use their tone to communicate who they are and reach different audiences. For example, a prestige brand might use words like “exquisite” to describe its products to appeal to an older audience. However, a brand that is more casual and speaks to a younger audience might simply say “our lovely things”. For consumers who value simplicity and clarity, the traditional brand might say “Please click here” on its website. However, the informal brand may say “let’s get this!” so that a Gen-Z customer can relate.

There are a million ways to differentiate between two brands by changing your tone of voice. This gives brands the opportunity to show their true selves, from the professional, neutral or expert to the chatty to the exuberant or courageous to the quirky, curious, exaggerated or excited.

Free Video Conferencing Tools for 2022

The way we do business has changed dramatically since last year. Many software categories have gained popularity for working remotely. Video conferencing software was undoubtedly one of these. Do you want to know the best free video conferencing software in 2022? Keep reading!

How we communicate has changed dramatically since almost everything is now digital, whether it was the epidemic or the technological advances. While these technologies are relatively new, some businesses that worked remotely before the pandemic used video conferencing solutions such as Microsoft Teams to continue their work.

Whether you are having a 1-on-1 or a team meeting, video conferences can increase efficiency in business meetings. Employee happiness and productivity will improve if video conferencing tools include screen recording, sharing and document sharing.

Zoom

Zoom is the first choice when we search for free video conferencing software. Zoom’s free version allows you to host a meeting lasting 40 minutes with up to 100 people. You can remove these restrictions by upgrading to a paid plan. You can collaborate remotely via the platform’s screen sharing feature.

You can also get 1GB of free cloud storage with your free account. This is very convenient for document sharing. Zoom may not be the right choice if you are looking for a way to have longer meetings. You can also upgrade your Zoom account to get around these limitations.

Skype

Skype is the best option for small businesses who want to hold unlimited meetings. Anybody with access can join the meeting via their mobile phone or web browser. Although call recording was previously only available with an add-in, you can now access this cloud-based feature for free without having to install another app.

One thing to note is that you can only host up to 25 people in the Skype free version. You can upgrade to Skype Business if this is not what your company needs, especially for team meetings.

UberConference

UberConference is a popular browser-based video calling solution. You can access it via your web browser, as it only offers a mobile version. You can record meetings that are limited to 10 people, just like Skype. The calls can last up to 45 minutes.

UberConference is the perfect choice if you want to have a high quality video chat. Screen sharing is a great feature that can be used during calls with other people. This feature will also help increase productivity during internal calls, as we’ve already mentioned.

FreeConference

FreeConference allows people to join calls via their web browser or mobile phone in addition to the free web conference feature. The platform can support up to 1000 audio participants. However, you can only have five participants in the free video call version.

FreeConference, a browser-based video conference platform similar to UberConference, is also available. Unfortunately, there is no video recording option that will allow you to view the meeting later.

Making Mistakes When eCommerce Companies Enter the European Market

Europe has a large population of 743M people. This country offers great growth potential for U.S.-based eCommerce companies.

With 703B USD vs 891B USD (2019), E.U. eCommerce is nearly as large as U.S. eCommerce. However, it isn’t easy to reach all of Europe simultaneously as the continent is divided by languages and cultures. We market to each country, not Europe. This allows us to maximize performance and achieve a better ROI per euro invested.

It is crucial to plan your business in Europe. You need to know the markets and know your competitors. Also, you should know the details of each country in Europe. You will be severely affected in the short- and long-term if you do not follow these steps. We have compiled a list of the top mistakes eCommerce businesses make when entering Europe. These mistakes can be avoided if you want to improve your success rate and grow the business.

Missing link 1: One domain for all E.U. countries

Customers are sophisticated. Before making a purchase, they will often compare prices, offers, and companies. Potential customers will notice if you have a domain at.com and your competitors have domains in their area. People don’t purchase online because they fear problems with delivery, payments, returns, customer service, and so on. Online purchases are risky. This is especially true if the item is similar in price or if the customer has had bad experiences buying from overseas.

MasterCard research shows that three-quarters of European shoppers (74%) are more inclined to shop locally. When entering Europe, it is important to remember the principle “Think globally, Act locally” You might consider buying domains in the domain areas you are targeting. Local businesses are rated highly by consumers as they offer*:

  • More personalized service: 96%
  • Trust – Treating customers fairly: 91%
  • Better customer service: 80%
  • 86% Quality workmanship
  • 79% – Reliability – Delivering what is promised
  • 75% for professionals

Mistake 2: Website only being in English

Google research shows that 56% of Europeans don’t want websites written in another language. Harvard Business Review, however, says 72% of customers spend the majority of their time visiting websites in their language.

Yes, English is the most widely spoken language in Europe. However, cross-border sales within Europe (e.g., customers from Germany purchasing a product from the U.K.) have become more popular every year. We are referring to local competition within each country. You must ensure that your eStore is written in local languages to achieve sustainable growth.

If you have a unique proposal, one of the reasons your eStore may not be acceptable written in English is because it’s only English. You can still keep your website in English, but you need to put more effort into the preparation phase to ensure that you meet trust factors (social proof etc. ).

Mistake 3: PayPal is the only payment method

You should offer different payment options when you target countries by country. PayPal is the most used payment method in many European countries. However, if PayPal is your only option it will hinder your growth and reduce ROI. Many people in Europe use alternative payment options because most countries have local providers like PayU in Poland and PayDirekt Germany. Klarna in Norway, Klarna, Carte Bancaires, and Klarna in Norway.

Before you begin any marketing activities, it is important to identify the most popular payment providers and integrate them into your eStore checkout. This will improve your eStore’s conversion rate. It is a great way to determine the best payment options and methods by spying on market leaders in your area.

Mistake 4: You are not offering local delivery options

While it’s fine to offer DHL delivery, it can limit your growth. You should also be familiar with your local market and the most preferred delivery options. Deutsche Post, DHL and Hermes are the top-rated delivery companies in Germany. If you don’t offer delivery via Royal Mail, DPD or Hermes in the U.K., you risk losing customers and money. If you are based in France, it is a good idea to offer shipping via Colissimo, Chronospost and/or DPD.

To our clients exporting eCommerce, we say that users don’t search for reasons “why to purchase” when they visit a new website. They are looking for reasons “why they shouldn’t buy”. Websites that lack trust factors or offer no option for delivery methods are great “why not buy” signals. You should ensure that you offer at least one of the most popular delivery methods in each country where you are operating.
